The Business Analyst will operate as part of a development team to collect and analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to create new computer solutions and to improve existing systems. The Business Analyst must have functional experience in Payroll/HR related disciplines as the project will involve data relationships, and general payroll and accounting practices. This is a contract through the end of the year that could be extended. The position will be located on-site in Louisville with a Fortune 500 Healthcare Company.
Responsibilities Include:
Performs and documents system configuration
Performs testing of system upgrades, enhancements and implementations
Tracks system issues and solutions using SAP’s escalation process
Partners with business units to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be processed, and how the results will be managed
Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system – identifies and differentiates system configuration from programming solutions
Prepares time and cost estimates for completing projects
Writes detailed functional specifications for program development
Prepares/coordinates technical reports, process documentation, test plans, training needs assessment, and implementation plans
Manages projects to schedule following systems development methodology; accountable for efficient & maintainable results that meet business requirements
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Systems Analyst or Business Analyst as an expert user of HR/Payroll information systems
Experience with Payroll and HR systems; understands employee data relationships, general payroll accounting practices
Proven track record of generating and implementing creative solutions
Knowledgeable of system development, and project life cycles and key components of project work
Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and projects with little or no supervision
