The Variable-Data Printing (VDP) Programmer will work with variable data print and print composition software to integrate data into templates using relational logic, basic programming language, and the application’s visual tools. Software being used will include HP Exstream Dialogue and GMC PrintNet. This individual should have two years of previous experience in this type of role with knowledge of direct mail programming
Responsibilities Include:
Develop programming logic based upon client business rules for targeting.
Integrate customer data into templates using relational logic, basic programming language, and the application’s visual tools.
Using a digital workflow platform, responsible for proof generation for client approval.
Review and QC all work at every stage of development.
Responsible for reporting and campaign tracking.
Requirements:
2 years minimum previous experience in this kind of position
2 years minimum experience in the mail industry
USPS pre-sort software knowledge (preferred BCC Mail Manager)
Advanced MS WORD, EXCEL, and ACCESS skills
Database applications SQL, Pervasive, or other related industry software experience
Preferences:
HP Exstream or GMC NetPrintT a plus
Ability to process and manipulate images as well as proficiency in color management is a plus
Other preferred software/programming knowledge such as SQL, HTML, XML, email platforms and internet programming languages is a plus
High Speed Laser Printer operation experience a plus
Graphic Design programs or Prepress a plus
